About 4 miles from downtown and 6 miles from Graceland, Hostel Memphis is at the heart of the Cooper-Young neighborhood of Midtown Memphis, an area of the city that is trendy, hip, and casual. There are many locally owned small businesses, including boutique shops, sophisticated restaurants, and happy-hour hangouts. It’s where art, culture, and good food come together alongside lovely historic homes.

Hostel Memphis is located in a charming century-old building shared with several other nonprofits. As a nonprofit, 100% of our net revenue goes to support many important causes, such as providing fresh meals and groceries to those who are food-insecure and empowering individuals through access to affordable bicycles by promoting cycling as a sustainable and equitable mode of transportation.

Hostel Memphis provides quaint, affordable, comfortable, secure, clean accommodations for our guests and communal spaces to encourage a sense of connectedness and community. The space includes bunk rooms for groups as well as private rooms for individuals, which are equipped with double-sized beds or bunk beds. We have two lounges, a library, and a large, full-sized kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher.

In addition, there are food storage areas and plenty of tables and chairs for seating—to eat or play board games! There are two bath/washroom areas: one much like you'd see at a gym or dormitory and the other is a series of small private bathrooms just down the hall from the bedrooms. Our internet and parking in the back are free, and all our guests are welcome to a free continental breakfast each morning. If it's a pretty day, feel free to have your breakfast on our large outdoor deck!
